Where the gaps are

Expand a short entry 99 open

These are real pages readers land on, and they are the thinnest things we publish. Adding the origin story to one is the single most useful edit on the site.
Write a wanted entry 1 open

Other entries already link to these, so the demand is proven before a word is written. They are the clearest gaps in the encyclopedia.
Connect an orphan 71 open

Nothing links to these, so the only way to find them is search. Adding a link from a related entry puts them back on the map.
Give a dead end somewhere to go 59 open

These link nowhere, so a reader who finishes one has no next step.
Add a second source 378 open

These cite exactly one source. A second independent citation is what makes an origin claim checkable, and it is the most common thing standing between an entry and a complete grade.
Add a second image 414 open

A single example often is not enough to recognise a format. A variation, or the meme used in the wild, does the work.

Anyone can suggest

Every entry has a “Suggest an edit” link. Say what is wrong and what it should say instead — a link that backs it up makes it much faster to approve.

An editor reads everything

Nothing goes live unreviewed. Suggestions and new submissions land in a queue that a human works through; there is no auto-publish path.

You get credited

When an edit is accepted your name goes on the entry and on the contributors page. You can turn that off in your account if you would rather not appear.
